Mental Health Counselor
Hi! I'm Raquel Cedeno from Lotus Rock Counseling, LLC and I would be honored to work with you! Life can be incredibly unfair and challenging at times which can leave us struggling emotionally, mentally, and beyond. My clients can expect to work with someone who is caring and committed to supporting them on their journey to living their best lives. Utilizing approaches that are proven to be effective, I work together with clients to build on the strengths they already possess. Clients can learn a variety of coping skills to best address their needs.

Starting counseling can be a huge first step and might be anxiety-provoking for some clients. Please rest assured that clients will be met with compassion and non-judgment in a safe space. Trust can take time in a therapeutic relationship so clients are encouraged to move at their own pace as they work towards their personal goals.

I am driven to support and empower clients to meet their goals using trauma-informed and culturally sensitive care. I am genuine, warm, empathetic, empowering and have a sense of humor. I focus on making sure all areas of wellness are addressed and I encourage clients to practice self-care and self-compassion. I can help motivate clients to feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and emotions including those that may feel painful and uncomfortable. I am dedicated to helping clients become the best versions of themselves.

Every individual is unique so there is no "one size fits all" method. Therefore, using an eclectic approach, I am able to utilize various treatment methods that are best suited to your needs. Some methods I use and have training in include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Humanistic, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

The Practice
Lotus Rock Counseling, LLC is proud to serve New Jersey residents who are 18 and older. Please know that you need to be physically in NJ at the time of your appointments due to current licensing laws/regulations. Some benefits of telehealth include flexibility with scheduling, elimination of commuting to and from an office, and the ability to have sessions despite possible illness or disability limitations and inclement weather. All providers are at least Master’s Level Clinicians who are fully licensed. The Practice provides voluntary outpatient-level care which may be short-term or long-term depending on the client's needs.

Clients who would not be a good fit are those that currently need a higher level of care to address issues such as psychosis, suicidal/homicidal intention, and those who are currently unsafe/in danger. We are not available on a 24/7 basis. We are also unable to help with any legal, severe conduct, or substance abuse issues. A session will be terminated if a client is driving, under the influence of any illicit drugs or alcohol, or behaving in a manner that is disrespectful, disruptive or discriminatory. This understanding and commitment is greatly appreciated. Clients deserve the best possible care and we want to make sure we would be a good fit before moving forward.
